Lewis Daniel Palmer, Jr.

WRENS, GA  -  Mr. Lewis Daniel Palmer, Jr. age 92, beloved husband of 70 years to Mrs. Annie Kate McNair Palmer entered into rest Tuesday December 5, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Zoar United Methodist Church with Rev. Chad Watkins and Pastor Josh Mosley officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Palmer a native of Warren County, GA was the son of the late Lewis Daniel Palmer, Sr. and Alma Huff Palmer.  A 1943 graduate of Warren County High School,  Mr. Palmer retired from Southern Natural Gas after 33 years of service.  In addition, Mr. Palmer served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II aboard the USS Endicott.  He was a member of Stapleton Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Glenda P. (Harold) Howard of Stapleton, GA and Shirley L. Palmer of Wrens, GA; two sons, Watson F. Palmer of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and Mickey R. (Rosella) Palmer of Wrens, GA; seven grandchildren, Kevin Palmer, Colleen Gunn, Cory Palmer, Thomas James Palmer, Kristina Palmer, April Hoffman, and Adam Howard and numerous great grandchildren.  Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by an infant son, two sisters, Helen Loper and Nellie Stewart; three brothers, Walton Palmer, Jonathan Palmer, and Leonard Palmer.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Palmer, Cory Palmer, Robert Hoffman, Adam Howard, Charles Milburn, Jack Phillips, and George Samples.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Palmer Cemetery Fund C/O Ms. Jeannie Bowen P.O. Box 1767 Thomson, GA 30824 or to the Stapleton Baptist Church C/O Mr. Anthony Lamb P.O. Box 146 Stapleton, GA 30823.

  Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. till the hour of service in the sanctuary of Zoar United Methodist Church.
