William David Lyons, Sr.

Warrenton, GA - Mr. William David Lyons, Sr. age 83, beloved husband of 60 years to Mrs. Mahaley Prevette Lyons entered into rest Friday, April 25, 2025 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the Mesena United Methodist Church 2455 Mesena Road Warrenton, GA  with Rev. Melissa Reynolds officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Lyons a native of Augusta had lived in Warren County, GA for years.  He was the son of the late Mrs. Winnie Lois Dunham Lyons and Mr. Edmond Dewey Lyons.  In addition, Mr. Lyons was a retired mechanic with Johnson Controls at Fort Gordon  and attended Mesena United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Mahaley Prevette Lyons of Warrenton; one son, Michael T. Lyons of Hephzibah; two sisters, Marie Parham of Warrenton and Brenda (Bob) Lancaster of Thomson; one brother, Charles (Reba) Lyons of Thomson; three grandchildren, Jessica (Jordan) Dowd, Haley Lyons, and David Lyons, III.; one great granddaughter, Copelynn Grace Dowd; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lyons was preceded in death by a son, William David Lyons, Jr. and a brother, Edmond Lyons.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. till the hour of service in the church sanctuary.
