Terry Joe Curtis Sprinkle, PhD
Warrenton, GA – Terry Joe Curtis Sprinkle, PhD passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022, at his residence surrounded by family. Born in Miami, Florida to Edith and Joe Sprinkle. Dr. Sprinkle demonstrated an early interest and ability in science and healing. He graduated from the University of Florida with degrees in biochemistry, neurochemistry, and microbiology. He completed an internship and fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medical School soon after. Dr. Sprinkle pursued his interest in teaching and ultimately became a tenured professor in Dept of Neurology, Biology at MCG and worked extensively with the Veterans Administration Hospital.
Once retired, he taught the next generation of students in Warren, McDuffie, Richmond and Glascock high schools. He loved to fish and ride his motorcycle along the back roads in Warren County. He always took the time to offer advice or help others.
He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty years, Ann Hinson Sprinkle, and three children: Terry Joe Curtis Sprinkle, Jr. (Jennifer), Gainesville, Fla., David LaVerne Sprinkle (Kitzi), Warrenton, Ga., and Ashley Ann Sprinkle Stone (Jimmy), Warrenton, Ga., as well as four grandchildren of whom he was so fond. Of all the accomplishments of Dr. Sprinkle, he wanted to be remembered as a teacher.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
No Visitation or Celebration of Life is scheduled at this time.
