MARTINEZ, GA - Mr. Robert (Bob) Hubert Davis, age 85, husband of the late Mrs. Carole P. Davis of Reed Creek Road entered into rest Friday evening February 5, 2016 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 8, 2016 in the Chapel of Platt’s Funeral Home - West, 337 N. Belair Road Evans, GA with the Rev. Alvin Jones officiating. Burial will follow at 4:00 P.M. in the Johnson Cemetery in Warrenton, GA.
Mr. Davis a native of Warren County, GA was the son of the late Lillian Johnson Davis and Hubert D. (Shug) Davis. A U. S. Navy Veteran, he was a graduate of Georgia Military College. Mr. Davis began his career with the Georgia Railroad Bank at Daniel Village before entering the real estate business and the founding of Regency Realty in Martinez. An avid golfer, Mr. Davis was a member of West Lake County Club, The Quadrigenta Investment Club, Georgia Association of Realtors, Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church and attended Freedom Bible Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Davis (Jeff) Stovall, Lenoir City, TN, Kimberly Davis (Jody) Dickson, Martinez, three grandchildren, Sarah Stovall (Mitch) Stewart, Rachel Hammock Stovall and Andrew Davis (Ashley) Stovall, two great grandchildren, Davis Reynolds Stewart, and Mary Mitchell Hammock Stewart, a dear first cousin, Helen Pollard, and the mother of his children, Shirley Hammock Davis.
Pallbearers will be Jim Beck, Gene Fisher, Buddy Bryson, Carey Tankersley, Keith Pollard, & G. B. Pollard, III.
Honorary Pallbearers will be G. B. (Jake) Pollard, Larry Prather, Sr., Pierce Blanchard, and James Fleming.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Johnson Cemetery Fund, C/O Mr. Joe Shurley 642 Shurley Road Warrenton, GA 30828.
