Ricky O’Shea Mays, Sr.

Mr. Ricky O'Shea Mays, Sr. age 70 beloved husband of 47 years to Mrs. Ann Drew Mays of Evans entered into rest Thursday, December 18, 2025, at his residence with his family by his side.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, January 5, 2026, at Belair Church 599 South Old Belair Road Grovetown with Pastor David Brooks officiating.
Mr. Mays, a native and lifelong resident of Columbia County, GA was the son of the late Mrs. Nellie Mae Perkins Mays and Mr. Fred Eugene Mays. Before retirement as the Inbound Operations Manager with Augusta Sportswear, Ricky served 27 years as Plant Manager with Georgia Iron Works – Grovetown. Devoted to his family, Ricky loved to hunt, fish, look for and collect arrowheads. One of his biggest joys was sharing his home and time with family and friends on the Edisto River, there, he co-hosted with Otis Gould the annual F. E. Mays - G.M. Gould Catfish Roundup for the last 27 years. In addition, he was a member of the Martinez Masonic Lodge #710 and Belair Church.
Survivors include his wife Ann Drew Mays of Evans; three daughters, Eron Hope Mays (David) Cook of Lincolnton, Amanda Nichole Mays (Mike) Orr of Evans, and Krystin Elizabeth Mays (Christopher) Hogue of Savannah; two sons, Ricky Mays, Jr. of Grovetown and Benjamin Austin (Anita) Mays of Savannah; one brother, Billy (Margie) Mays of Thomson; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. Mays was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Postell.
The family will receive friends January 5, 2026, from 2:00 P.M. till the hour of service at Belair Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
