Rhonda Walden Wren
Gibson – Mrs. Rhonda Walden Wren, age 63, beloved wife of Mr. Don Wren, entered into rest Thursday, December 15, 2022, at her residence.
Mrs. Wren was born in Dekalb County, Georgia, but lived all her life in Glascock County. The daughter of Mrs. Carol Landrum and the late Gerald Walden. Rhonda was a 1977 Graduate of Glascock County High School and a homemaker. Mrs. Wren could often be seen working as a substitute teacher at Glascock County Consolidated Schools and her family’s business, Crossroads BBQ. She was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church. Rhonda was known as “Mimi” and loved her grandchildren with all her heart. Mrs. Wren loved to travel with her husband Don and she called Hilton Head her second home.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Walden and a sister, Dr. Jennifer Landrum. Survivors include her husband of 24 years Don Wren of Gibson; parents, Wayne and Carol Landrum of Gibson; son, Travis Braswell (Amanda) of Gibson; daughter, Tara Downs (Kyle) of Mitchell; sisters, Denise Dallas (Buddy) and Melissa Landrum, both of Gibson; grandchildren, Payton, Brody, Paisley, Gavin, Caeden, Keaten, and Colton; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, December 29th at Magnolia Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Hadden officiating, burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Grant Hadden, Jonathan Hart, Matt Kent, Ben Usry, Ben Hadden, Doodle Padgett, and Tyler Champion.
