Rev. Mack “Bert” Mauldin

Sparta, GA – Rev. Bert Mauldin, age 85, beloved husband of Mrs. Dorothy Ann Millegan Mauldin, entered into rest Sunday, October 23, 2022.  Bert was the son of the late Isaac Joshua Mauldin and Ellie Mamielee McDaniel Mauldin.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Culverton Baptist Church Cemetery with his daughter Vickie Freece officiating. There will be no public visitation.

Rev. Mauldin was born in Buford, Georgia on July 23, 1937, and graduated from Okeefee High School.  He worked for the State of Georgia, in the printing department for thirty-two (32) years until he retired in 1989. Through his work, he attained his Certified Public Managers designation and he served as the President of National State Printing Association in 1987-88.  After retirement, he and Dorothy moved to their farm in Sparta.  Bert was the Pastor of Culverton Baptist Church for many years.  He often ministered to local rehabilitation/ nursing homes and could be seen out and about ministering to anyone that would listen to him talk about Jesus and his love for them. 

Rev. Mauldin was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Faye Mauldin Nix, Jean Mauldin Timlin, and Laura Mauldin Martin, brothers, Jason Mauldin, Kenneth Mauldin and Sherman Mauldin, and his first wife and mother of his daughter, Sara Mauldin Scott.  He is survived by his wife Dorothy Mauldin, brother, Lyman Mauldin, daughter, Vickie Mauldin Freeece, stepchildren, Steve Arnold, Keith Arnold, Kristi Kunkle, and Marco Williams.  He also leaves behind a grandson, Brett Freece, the son he always wanted, great-granddaughter Koral and his best friend and care giver Frank Fain. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials  may be made to a local food bank or homeless shelter in his honor.
