Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” Jo Wood Lowe
Warrenton, Georgia – Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” Jo Wood Lowe, age 57, devoted wife of Mr. Paul Lowe, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Piedmont McDuffie.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Scruggs Cemetery in Norwood, with Rev. Jonathan Rosier and Dr. Don Widener officiating.
A lifelong resident of Warren County, Becky was the daughter of the late Billy Wayne Wood and Betty Jo Ashley Wood Hadden. She graduated from Glascock County High School and continued her education at Augusta Technical College and Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, where she earned her associate’s degree in nursing.
Becky dedicated 30 years of service as a Public Health Nurse with the Georgia Department of Public Health. After retiring from the Warren County Health Department, she continued caring for her community by serving four years as a school nurse with the Warren County School System. She was also Co‑Owner of Lowe Funeral Home and Lowe Vault and Monument Company, working faithfully alongside her husband.
A member of Norwood Baptist Church, Becky was active in children’s ministries and Vacation Bible School for many years, especially during Lauren’s childhood. She was a devoted wife, a loving and dedicated mother, a cherished sister and aunt, and a loyal friend to many. Becky found joy in time spent with family and friends, and she had a heart for helping anyone in need.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Paul Melvin Lowe; her daughter, Lauren Lowe Hammond (John Thomas), of Buford; two brothers, Dewayne Wood (Lynn) and John Wood (Joan), both of Warrenton; her sister, Angie Hadden Phillips (Stanley) of Gibson; sister-in-law, Sandra Pendrey Lowe; and her lifelong friend, Kathy Johnson; numerous niece and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Lester L. Hadden, her sister, Darlene Hadden Williams, and brother-in-law Matt Lowe.
Pallbearers will be Britt Hammond, Tyler Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Harold Reece, Glenn Howell, Joey Warren, Ritchie Brunner, and Randy Thrift.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Lowe Funeral Home and Lowe Vault and Monument Company.
Friends may call at the residence. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00–9:00 P.M. at Lowe Funeral Home.
