Mrs. Nancy Warren Smith
Warrenton, Georgia – Mrs. Nancy Warren Smith, age 76, widow of Mr. Billy Ray Smith, entered into rest on Friday, January 30, 2026, at her home. She was the daughter of the late William H. Warren and Sara Mason Warren.
Born in Lyons, Georgia, Nancy lived in several places throughout her life, but for more than 30 years she proudly called Warrenton her home. She retired from Warren County as a Communications Officer “Dispatcher”, a role in which she served with dedication, calmness, and a steady presence. She was also a faithful member of Norwood Baptist Church.
Nancy found joy in the simple beauty of everyday life. She loved tending to her yard, and neighbors often remarked that nothing was ever out of place on her corner of the street. Her home reflected her care, pride, and attention to detail. Nancys greatest escape, however, was the beach. She lovingly referred to it as her “Happy Place,” where she felt most at peace.
She is survived by her stepson, Charles Smith; stepdaughter, Angie Smith; sister‑in‑law, Beverly Warren; niece, Kimberly Toole; nephews, Joey Warren (Karen) and Jason Warren (Stacey); cousins, Julie Jernigan (Dean), Charles Hall (Joyce), and Tommy Seymour (May); along with a host of extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Ray Smith; and her brother, Robert Warren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 5th, 2026, in Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Don Widener officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
