Mildred Wren Raley

Warrenton – Mrs. Mildred Wren Raley, age 90, widow of Mr. James William Raley, entered into rest Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Piedmont Hospital Augusta.

Mrs. Raley was a native of Glascock County but lived most of her adult life in Warrenton.  She was the daughter of the late Walter Calhoun Wren and Florrie Hadden Wren.  Mildred was a 1949 graduate of Warren County High School, a homemaker and a active member of The First Baptist Church of Warrenton and the Laura Lee Sunday School Class.  Mrs. Raley was a loving wife, mother and loved working in her yard and flowers.  She loved sports and was an avid supporter of  Briarwood Academy, Atlanta Braves and The Georgia Bulldogs.

In Addition to her parents, Mrs. Raley was predeceased by her three brothers; Euell Wren, Allen Wren, and Walter C. Wren, Jr.; and sister, Klonnie W. Lewis. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Sherrie R. Gabriel (Jim) of Winterville, Georgia; son Jimmy Raley of Warrenton; two sisters, Catherine Wren of Warrenton and Bernice Wren Jackson of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Brett Gabriel (Ashley) and Jessica Gabriel; two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Brogen.   

A Funeral Service will be held at 3 pm Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Warrenton with Dr. Brandon Furr officiating.  Burial will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Pallbearers will be Jim McMichael, Palmer Hadden, Larry Rachels, Pete Bales, Joey May, and Doug Callaway.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Laura Lee Sunday School Class.
