Mattie Johnson Chalker

Warrenton – Mrs. Mattie Johnson Chalker, age 87, beloved wife of Mr. Gee Thomas Chalker, Jr., entered into rest Thursday, January 19, 2023, at her residence.

Mrs. Chalker was a lifelong resident of Warren County.  The daughter of the late Mr. William Frank Johnson and Mrs. Estelle Cranford Johnson.  Mattie was a homemaker and a member of Norwood Methodist Church but also attended Mitchell Full Gospel Church. 

Mrs. Chalker was preceded in death by her two sons, Ken Chalker and Gee Thomas Chalker, III, sister, Minnie Bell Wright, and brother Alton Johnson.  Mattie is survived by her husband of 71 years, Mr. Gee Thomas Chalker, Jr.; two daughters-in-laws, Agnes Chalker and Sara Chalker; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 3 pm Sunday, January 22nd at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow at Scruggs Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday night at the funeral home.
