Marcia R. Ray (Peggy), beloved wife of the late Edward S. Ray, entered into rest on September 14th, 2025 at the age of 94.
Mrs. Ray was born in Warren County and was the daughter of Odom L. Reese and Dora Hart Reese. She graduated from Warrenton High School and attended 2 years of college at GCSU in Milledgeville GA. Marcia was a member of Johnson Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sister Mary R. Abercrombie, her son Edward L. Ray her daughter Marcia A. Ray, her granddaughter Erin Anderson, her grandson John Glawe, and her great granddaughter Evelyn Anderson. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers-in-law Ed Abercrombie, George Ray, William N. Ray, and her sisters-in-law Alice Stebbins, Lillian Fuller, and Marjorie Hudson.
A graveside service will be held at Johnson Church Cemetery on Wednesday September 17th at 11:00 AM with Dr. Randy Dunaway presiding. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the graveside service in the Johnson Church Fellowship building.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Ray, Juddy Johnson, Jason Johnson, Madison M. (Matt) Williams, Larry Johnson, and Lane McMichael.
The family would like to recognize and thank caregivers Ashley Faulkner, Nicole Rodgers, Loistine Baker, and Debra Heacock for all they have done. Also, thanks to Wendy Hebbard of Wendy’s Senior Services and the staff of Gibson Health & Rehabilitation Center
