Macon Ralph Mauldin, Jr

Warrenton – Mr. Macon Ralph Mauldin, Jr., age 77, beloved husband of Mrs. Martha P. Mauldin, entered into rest Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Piedmont Hospital Augusta.

Mr. Mauldin, was born in Wilkes County, lived his younger years in Thomson, before calling Warren County his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Macon Ralph Mauldin, Sr. and Marie Story Mauldin, and a sister Elizabeth Mauldin Whitaker. He was a 1965 graduate of Thomson High School. His work career included produce manager at Colonel Stores, store manager at Gurleys, and butcher in Gibson. He was an active member of Mill Creek Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Secretary.  He was a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge # 11. 

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Martha Poole Mauldin of Warrenton; two sons, Macon Ralph Mauldin, III and wife Cindy of Warthen and Marcus James Mauldin and wife Michelle of Thomson; grandchildren, Macie Jean Mauldin, Makenzie Paige Mauldin, Lee Andrew Mauldin, and Laura Mauldin Batchelor.

The funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Mill Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Johns and Rev. Tony Key officiating.  Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Monday night at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Snider, Tim Brooks, Mike Greenwell, Eddie Boyen, Scott Lamb and Steve Johnson.
