Lisa (Murphy) Usry

Mrs. Lisa Murphy Usry age 56, wife of the late Mr. Danny Ray Usry of Sandhill Road Mitchell, GA entered into rest Sunday, August 9, 2020 at the University Hospital - Augusta.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Mitchell City Cemetery with the Rev. Jacky Downs and Mrs. Kay Downs officiating

Mrs. Usry, a native of Sparta, GA  was the daughter of the late Fannie Giddens Murphy and Harvey Murphy and a 1981 graduate of John Hancock Academy.  A resident of Glascock County, GA for over 34 years, she was retired from Walmart in Thomson and a member of the Mitchell Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Carrie Usry and Lacey Usry (David) Williams both of Mitchell; three sisters, Julia Ann Hadden of Sparta; Margaret Hadden of Mitchell; Jane (Al) Frazier of Eatonton; two brothers, Roy (Leeann) Murphy of Mitchell, and Leon Murphy of Sparta; four grandchildren, Jason Williams, Chelsea Williams, Landen Williams, and Dani Rae Williams; father-in-law, Thomas Ray Usry; three sister- in-laws, Janie Usry of Mitchell, Debbie (Ronnie) Chalker of Mitchell, and Alaine Logan of Avera; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Usry was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Murphy of Sparta.

The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.

Per CDC requirements the family will be observing social distancing and mask are requested.  Due to the current national health concern, the family would appreciate all phone calls, cards, texts, and emails.

In lieu of flowers and if so desired, the family has requested memorials be made to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN  38105.
