Katherine Russell

Glascock County (Gibson) – Mrs. Katherine Russell, age 93, widow of Mr. Elbert Lee Russell, entered into rest, Tuesday, November 19, 2024, Piedmont August.  She was the daughter of the late John Walton Wren and Mary Parrish Wren.

Mrs. Russell was a born in Augusta-Richmond County, Georgia, but lived in Evans most her life.  She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. 

Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by parents, husband, two daughters, Brenda Shoemaker and Donna Meredith; three brothers, John Walton Wren, Jr., Joseph Richard Wren, and David Wren; two sisters, Frances Franklin and Jeanette Pate. 

Survivors include her two sons, Paul Rodgers and wife Jodie of Martinez, Charles Barfort and wife Beth of North Augusta; daughter, Pam Fields of Martinez; grandchildren, Eddie Shoemaker, Cecilia Schiffbauer, Kellie Wilkerson and husband Jerry, Amanda Isenhour and husband Jonathan, Crystal Magness and husband Joshua, Sherri Young, Terri Barnes, and Grayson Rodgers;  great-grandchildren, Austin, Thomas and Allie Grace Wilkerson, Jaelynn Holland, Harper, Shaw and Kynden Magness, Kaley Hardin and husband Hayden, and Hunter Fields; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 24th, 2024, from 2 to 4 pm at the funeral home.  There will not be a service scheduled. 

The family would like to express their heartfelt thank you to the Staff of Gibson Health and Rehabilitation for the care and love shown to Mrs. Russell over the last six years.
