“Jazzie, Midnight, Blue”

Jeffrey Allen Ivey

Warrenton – Mr. Jeffrey Allen Ivey a.k.a., “Jazzie, Midnight, Blue”, age 65, transitioned to his eternal home Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 1:14 p.m., in Augusta University Medical Center Augusta, Georgia. Jeff’s parents Mr. William Ivey, Jr. and Mrs. Lena Mae Ivey proceeded him in death, along with two other siblings: Mr. Willie James Ivey, of Warrenton, Georgia, and Johnny C. Ivey (Shirley Ivey) of Thomson, Georgia.

He leaves behind six siblings to cherish his memory and bear this same cross: Charlie Moses Ivey (Michelle Ivey) of Warrenton, Georgia, David Lee Ivey (Bobbie Jean Ivey) of College Park, Georgia, Daisy Mae Turman (Manus Turman) of Warrenton, Georgia, Deloris Ann Hall (Milton Hall) of Warrenton, Georgia, Gwendolyn Ivey of Warrenton, Georgia, Etta Michelle Thomas (Dennis Thomas, Sr.) of Warrenton, Georgia.  Loving remembering, his wife Mrs. Johnnie Mae Mance Ivey; a host of nieces, nephews, and ALL HEARTFELT FRIENDS!

Jeff Joined the Rocky Branch Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Great Rev. George Thompson.  Throughout life he had a passion for music, so the drums were his way of contributing to any worship service.  He played for his church, when needed, M.T. Inspiration and the Echoes of Joy of Thomson, Georgia.  He also Played for various other groups while journeying in New York under the supervision of Elder Jeffery Hobbs.  He was a smooth dancer and one of the best dress starched jeans and shirt wearing dude around.

Jeff worked in many places in the Warrenton and McDuffie County area, The Timmermans, Dudley Nurseries, but he found a peaceful working environment with Mr. Paul Lowe at Lowe Vault & Monument Company, he worked there until his health failed.

Jeff’s Life here on this Earth is done.  God has more work for him to do with him.  Just know he made PEACE and now he’s FREE. PEACE BE STILL.

A Homegoing Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, May 13th at Rocky Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Revs. Jeffrey Hobbs, Steve Ivey, Lester Woods, and Mr. Paul Lowe officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
