Mr. James Lavern Luke

Hephzibah – Mr. James Lavern Luke, age 85, entered into rest, Tuesday, April 09, 2024, at his residence. He was the husband of Mrs. Bobbie Gail Gould Luke and the son of the late William Franklin Luke and Alma Louise Hughes.

James was a lifelong resident of Richmond County, Georgia. He retired from Federal Paper Board as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Mr. Luke was a U.S. Army Veteran and a Baptist by faith. 

Mr. Luke leaves behind his wife Bobbie Gail Gould Luke; a son Arthur Franklin “Jim” Luke of Hephzibah; a daughter Sabrina Laverne Gay of Hephzibah; sister, Diane Bedgood of Belvedere, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Amy Elizabeth Contreras, Austin Luke, Bobby Lavern Joseph Gay, Gerald Willis Gay, III; and four great-grandchildren, Aiden Ivan Contreras, Vanessa Anahi Contreras, Jahziel Emiliano Contreras, and Dennis Joseph Eugene Gay.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 27, 2024, in the Chapel at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Maters City Riders and Blue Knights.
