Warrenton, GA - Mr. James Benjamin (J.B.) Ivey age 88, husband of Mrs. Judy B. Ivey of Ivey Road Warrenton died Thursday evening June 12, 2014 at the Gibson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Long Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Crews and Pastor Otis J. Strong officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Ivey will lie in state one hour prior to funeral services at the church.
Mr. Ivey a native and lifelong resident of Warren County was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George W. Ivey, Sr. He was a retired bus driver with the Warren County Board of Education and farmer. In addition, Mr. J.B was a retired professional trainer of Tennessee Walking Horses. Mr. Ivey was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines serving in WW II and a member and Deacon of Long Creek Baptist Church.
Additional survivors include his three daughters, Lane Ivey Thrift, Jan Ivey and Pam (Mark) Gray, two sons, Todd Ivey and Bill Ansley, one sister, Jewel Ivey (Otis) Johnson, eight grandchildren, Miriam (Blake) Ansley, Ivey Thrift, Kelly Flynn, Scott Johnson, Nikki Yelton, Hunter Gray, Dallas Anderson, and Haley Ansley and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Lowe Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be family.
