J. Tim Williams Obituary

Timothy Williams

December 19, 1968 – July 8, 2024

J. Timothy “Tim” Williams, age 55, beloved husband of Lynn Williams, also known as a “Daddy”, “PopPop”, father-in-law, son, brother, uncle, and friend to so many, peacefully entered the Kingdom of God on July 8, 2024.

Tim was born December 19, 1968, in Louisville, Ga to Jimmy and Nelda Williams of Stapleton, Ga. Growing up, he spent a lot of time in his dad’s shop learning how to work with wood, and he became an extremely talented craftsman. When he was a teenager, he and his wife, Lynn, were set up on a blind date. Lynn always told their two girls the story of how Tim came to help her babysit. She said she knew she was in love when she saw how caring and loving he was to the children she was watching. After a few inseparable years being high school sweethearts, Tim asked Lynn to marry him, and the two were wed on July 28, 1990, at the ages of 21 and 19. This month makes 34 years of marriage for the two. Tim and Lynn created a beautiful home in Wrens, Ga where they raised their two girls, Meredith and Morgan. Tim loved to spend time with “his girls”, do woodwork, hunt, fish, grill, and work in his yard with his Boykin Spaniels alongside him. He took pride in his meticulous landscaping, and there wasn’t much that he couldn’t build, fix, or teach himself how to do. He worked at Kamin, LLC., formerly known as Huber, for 32 years where he met some of his lifelong best friends. He then worked at Two State Construction Co. for four years where he formed even more close relationships. Tim was the kind of man that didn’t meet a stranger, so it was no surprise that he found his people everywhere he went. Tim worked hard to provide a wonderful life to his wife and two girls, showed up to support his family at every event, completed every crazy project they came up with, and did it all with the biggest smile on his face. There wasn’t a single day that went by that he didn’t remind them just how beautiful they were to him. He was the ideal “girl dad”, husband, and PopPop, and there was nothing more important to him than his family. He loved his wife, daughters, and grandbaby, Hallie, immensely, and they loved and idolized him just the same. Tim was so incredibly faithful, and he did an exceptional job at centering his family around the Lord. When diagnosed with cancer this year, Tim never worried or feared, because he knew how strong his relationship with God was. He continued to be hopeful and pray every day thanking the Lord for every one of his blessings. He would pray with Lynn every night for his family, his friends, and for all the people going through the same experience as him. Tim never wanted anyone to worry about him despite his diagnosis. He was so appreciative of all the prayers, support, and love he received. He would put on a brave face and tell his girls that he was okay even when he didn’t feel good so that they would continue to let him take care of them. Tim rarely spoke words of hate, complaint, or negativity, because he always tried to see things from every possible point of view. He would always say, “I am going to do the right thing even if others aren’t.” Simply saying that Tim was a good man cannot fully encapsulate how honorable, honest, loyal, and loving he truly was, but we hope that his peaceful, kind heart is carried on in all those that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Tim is survived by his wife, Lynn Williams; two daughters, Meredith Williams (Jason) Dahm and Morgan Williams (Isaac) Phillips both of Wrens; one granddaughter, Hallie Dahm; parents, Jimmy and Nelda Williams of Stapleton and one sister, Teresa Williams (Doug) Williams of Eatonton;
