Mr. J. Jaffrey Montgomery
Warrenton, GA – Mr. J. Jaffrey Montgomery, age 74, beloved husband of Susan “Suzie” Gayle Shelton Montgomery, entered into rest Thursday November 20, 2025, at his residence. Jaffrey was the son of the late Robert Carswell Montgomery, Jr. and Margie Hadden Montgomery. Born in Wilkes County, but lived all his life in Warrenton, he was a member of First United Methodist Church of Warrenton.
A Celebration is being planned and will be held at a later date.
Jaffrey leaves behind a legacy of friendship, craftsmanship, and a life lived with purpose and determination. A high school graduate, Jaffrey, began working with W. S. Badcock Corporation, where he served for many years as Warehouse Maintenance Supervisor. He later retired from A.C.M., where his skill as a welding fabricator earned him great respect among his coworkers and friends.
Jaffrey was an avid shooter and lifelong marksman. He spent countless hours gunsmithing, perfecting firearm repairs, and sharing his knowledge with anyone who needed it. If there was ever an issue with a firearm, Jaffrey was the one people trusted to diagnose it, repair it, or at least enjoy figuring it out. His weekends were often spent at his shooting range surrounded by close friends talking, laughing, sharing stories, and doing what he loved most.
Known as a true “jack of all trades, master of none,” Jaffrey approached every challenge with curiosity and determination. If something didn’t make sense, he simply researched it until it did. His willingness to learn, his generous spirit, and his genuine enjoyment of people made him a friend to everyone he met. His joking sense of humor, always quick with a prank or a playful remark brought laughter everywhere he was, will be missed by everyone that knew him. Not only was he an avid marksman, but he enjoyed engineering gadgets, potato gun/cannon launcher, Gatorade bottle launcher on a trailer, and many more.
Jaffrey is survived by his wife Susan “Suzie” Montgomery, of Warrenton; two sons, James Robert “Bobby” Montgomery and wife Leigh Anne of Newport, North Carolina, Jaffrey Clinton Montgomery of Columbus, Ohio; Grandson, Joshua Ryan Montgomery; sister, Deborah Moore of Raysville.
Jaffrey was predeceased by his parents and brother Robert Carswell Montgomery, III.
