Obituary

Harlem, GA – Mr. Floyd Clinton Smith, age 73, entered into rest Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at V.A. Hospital Downtown Division.

Floyd was a native of Fairfield, Alabama, but lived in various places before making Harlem, Georgia his home.  Mr. Smith graduated High School and went on to attend various colleges. Floyd was an Army Veteran.  He worked with the Internal Revenue Service as an Auditor for many years. He was a member of Second Chance Independent Church of Thomson, Georgia.  Floyd was a former Licensed Georgia Insurance agent with Wooden of the World. Mr. Smith was a Mason, Shriner, member of the Order of the Amaranth, an active member of the Elk Lodge. Floyd was a friend to everyone and had a passion for helping people.  He loved his church family and would often bless the congregation by singing.   

Survivors include his close friend, Isabel Miller, Harlem, Georgia; two daughters, Hope Smith, and Valerie Smith; and three grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Second Chance Independent Church at a later date.
