MITCHELL, GA - Mrs. Evelyn Howell Shelton, age 85, of Macon Highway Mitchell died Thursday evening January 14, 2016 at the Warrenton Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Mill Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Key officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Shelton will lie in state one hour prior to funeral services at the church.
Mrs. Shelton a native of the Jewell Community of Warren County, GA was the daughter of the late Henry and Nettie Silas Howell. She was retired from the Fulghum – Carr Drug Co. and a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her three children, Cathy (Clifford) Kitchens, Mitchell, Billy (Debbie) Shelton, Bartow, and Gracie (Paul) Costello, Mitchell, three grandchildren, Robert (Alisha) Kitchens, Stacey (James) Moore, and Will Shelton, two great grandchildren, Ashlyn Kitchens, and Amber Kitchens.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Snider, Hoyt Cole, Joe Dean Usry, Lester Hadden, Eddie Boyen, and Randy Thrift.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Augusta Regional Office, 106 SRP Drive, Suite A, Evans, GA 30809.
Friends may call at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Clifford Kitchens, 6476 Warren Street Mitchell, GA.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Lowe Funeral Home.
