Mrs. Carolyn Anderson Langford age 91, beloved wife of the late Mr. George Pierce Langford, Jr. went to be with our Heavenly Father Wednesday January 20, 2021.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Johnson Cemetery with the Revs. Susannah Davis and Laura Anderson Shearer officiating. Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family request that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged.
Mrs. Langford, a native and lifelong resident of Warren County was the daughter of the late Ione Ware Anderson and Edwin Burton Anderson, Sr. She was a graduate of Warren County High School and the Georgia State College for Women. Mrs. Carolyn retired after a 38 year career with the US Department of Agriculture. She was an active member of the community, faithfully serving the Warrenton First United Methodist Church, Warren County Historical Society, Warrenton Garden Club, and treasurer for the Rural Conservation and Development Committee.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Langford was preceded in death by a daughter, Cary Langford Purvis; sister, Robbie Anderson Lopez, and a brother, Edwin Burton Anderson, Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Julie Langford Durham; a son, George Pierce Langford, III; son-in-law, Don Purvis; seven grandchildren, Lauren Langford (Levi) Johnson, Jaci Langford, John Spivey, Courtney Purvis (Christopher) Stabb, Colin Purvis, Nicholas (Emily) Durham and Rachel Durham; two great grandchildren, Anderson Levi Johnson and Emma Helen Spivey.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully ask that memorial contributions be made to the Warrenton First United Methodist Church 412 Main Street Warrenton, GA 30828.
