Betty Jo (Ashley) Wood Hadden

Warrenton, GA - Mrs. Betty Jo Ashley Wood Hadden age 75, beloved wife of Mr. Lester L. Hadden entered into rest August 16, 2024, at the Gibson Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Norwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Widener officiating.  Burial will follow in the Wood-Lowe family section at Scruggs Cemetery.

Mrs. Hadden a lifelong resident of Warren County, GA was the daughter of the late Anna Mae Coker Ashley and Henry Grady Ashley, Sr. She was retired from Citizens Bank as the operations manager and an active member of the Norwood Baptist Church, Adult Sunday School Class, and a former church treasurer. Betty Jo was known for her wisdom, hard work ethic, and efforts to maintain peace in all relationships.  Her deep love for family was evident through everything she did, making her family top priority alongside her devotion as a wife, mother, and NANNY.

Survivors include her husband, Lester L. Hadden of Warrenton, GA; two daughters, Becky Wood (Paul) Lowe of Warrenton, GA and Angie Hadden (Stanley) Phillips of Gibson, GA; two sons, Dewayne (Lynn) Wood and John (Joan) Wood both of Warrenton, GA; two sisters, Margaret Ashley (John) Brooks of Thomson, GA and Diane Ashley Crunkelton of Gibson, GA; two brothers, Terry (Marie) Ashley of Thomson, GA and Henry G. (Barbara) Ashley, Jr.  of Sparta, GA; nine grandchildren, Alli Wood (Matt) Smith, Megan Wood (Christopher) Pileggi, Spencer C. (Amy) Wood, Logan Wood, and Lauren B. Lowe (fiancé  John Thomas Hammond), Randy Williams, David (Lacey) Williams, Ryan (Amanda) Phillips, and Tyler (Breanna) Phillips; twelve great grandchildren, Casen Smith, Cohen Smith, Maverick Pileggi, Jason Williams, Chelsea Williams, Landen Williams, Dani Rae Williams, Anna Williams, Emma Williams, Amelia Phillips, Adeline Phillips, and Jack Phillips.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hadden was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Billy Wayne Wood, a daughter, Darlene Hadden Williams, and two brothers, Jimmy Ashley and Ray Ashley.

Pallbearers will be Lane Crunkelton, Dale Ashley, Ryan Phillips, Tyler Phillips, Henry Wood, and Ronny Wood.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that you go visit your mother or make a memorial contribution in her memory to the Norwood Baptist Church P.O. Box 372 Norwood, GA 30821.

Friends may call at the residence or from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. Saturday evening at Lowe Funeral Home.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff of Gibson Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving, compassionate and professional care given to Betty Jo during the last two weeks of her beautiful, sweet life.
