Bennie Lee May
Warrenton, GA – Mr. Bennie Lee May, age 92, Widower of Mrs. Mattie Joyce Cason May, entered into rest Tuesday, October 18, 2022. Bennie was the son of the late Jewell & Richard Yarbrough May.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Long Creek Baptist Church with Reverends Chad Crews, Chris Wasson, and Todd Milligan officiating.
Bennie was born in Hancock County, Georgia, September 22, 1930 and was a 1948 graduate of Sparta High School. Mr. May served our country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War and retired from Jebco Inc. Bennie was a faithful member of Long Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and various other positions.
Mr. May was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Cason May, his first wife Betty May, his parents, brothers, Roy May, Calvin May; sister, Agnes May (Wendell) Torrance. Survivors include his sons, Larry May (Kim) and Tommy May, both of Warrenton; daughter, Joyce May Hall (Charles) of Norwood; sister-in-law, Ann May of Warrenton; grandchildren, Charlie Hall, Austin May, Megan May, Taylor May, Erin May, and Connor May; nephew Joey May and nieces Nancy Bales, Peggy Sammons, Robbie Cameron, Jane Mattheis, and Janet Torrance.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
Friends may call at Lowe Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
