Annie Kate (McNair) Palmer

WRENS, GA  -  Mrs. Annie Kate McNair Palmer age 92, wife of 70 years to the late Lewis Daniel Palmer, Jr. entered into rest Friday evening January 15, 2021.

Private graveside funeral services with social distancing will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the Zoar United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Chad Watkins officiating.

Mrs. Palmer a native of Glascock County, GA was the daughter of the late Katie Lee Anderson McNair and Watson McNair. A 1946 graduate of Warren County High School, Mrs. Palmer was the class salutatorian.  After high school she attended Southern Business School in Atlanta. After marrying Mr. Palmer she worked a brief time as a seamstress in the garment factory and as Manager of the lunch room in the Wrens School. She was a member of Stapleton Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenda P. (Harold) Howard of Stapleton, GA and Shirley L. Palmer of Wrens, GA; two sons, Watson F. Palmer of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and Mickey R. (Rosella) Palmer of Stapleton, GA; one sister, Mary Voncille McNair Akins; seven grandchildren, Kevin Palmer, Colleen Gunn, Cory Palmer, Thomas James Palmer, Kristina Palmer Dennis, April Hoffman, and Adam Howard and numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by an infant son, two sisters; Frances McNair Hobbs and LaVerne McNair Huff Usry.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Palmer, Cory Palmer, Robert Hoffman, Adam Howard, Jackson Hoffman, and  Tyler Dennis.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Palmer Cemetery Fund C/O Mrs. Alice Stewart 2525 Pineview Drive Augusta, GA 30906  or to the Stapleton Baptist Church C/O Mr. Anthony Lamb P.O. Box 146 Stapleton, GA 30823.

Per CDC requirements the family will be observing social distancing.  Mask are required and appreciated.
