Warrenton, GA - Mrs. Ann Elder Adkins age 82, beloved wife of 65 years to the late Mr. Alton Eugene "Gene" Adkins entered into rest Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Gibson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A M., Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Jewell Baptist Church with the Revs. David Miller and Frank Thigpen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Adkins, a native of Hancock County, GA, was the daughter of the late Mrs. Ruby Estelle Burgamy Elder and Mr. Jamie William Elder. Mrs. Adkins was the retired post-mistress of the U.S. Post office in Jewell, GA and a member of the 1960 class of Sparta High School and an active member of the Jewell Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Angela Adkins (Wally) Davis of Dearing, GA; two sons, Steve (Alison) Adkins of Washington, DC, and Jeff (Suzi) Adkins of Warrenton, GA; two sisters, Sue Elder (Edward) Burgamy of Tennille, GA and Georgia Mae Brown of Sparta, GA; one brother, Gene Elder of Eatonton, GA; 5 grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Davis, Justin (Ashton) Adkins, Ansley Adkins, Jewell Adkins, and Alden Adkins; 3 great grandchildren, Maddie Davis, Marlie Davis, and Aria Adkins.
Pallbearers will be John Chapman, Mark Gray, Treie Burgamy, Alden Adkins, Matthew Davis, and Justin Adkins.
Friends may call at the residence.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:30 AM till the hour of service at Jewell Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to the Jewell Baptist Church Cemetery Fund P.O. Box 203 Warrenton, GA 30828.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the Staff of Regency Hospice and Gibson Health & Rehabilitation Center for their loving, compassionate and professional care given to Mrs. Adkins during the last days of her beautiful, sweet life.
