Pleasant Henry "P. H." Giddens

Warrenton, Georgia – Mr. Pleasant Henry "P.H." Giddens, age 91, widower of Mrs. Mardine Benefield Giddens, entered into rest on Friday, September 18, 2026, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held Monday, September 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Warrenton First Baptist Church with Dr. Brandon Furr officiating. Burial will follow in Sallie Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lowe Funeral Home.

Born July 8, 1935, in Nashville, Georgia, to the late Luther Jacob Giddens and Mildred Dent Giddens, Mr. P.H. was raised in Berrien County and graduated from Berrien County High School in 1953. He continued his education at Marsh Business College, earning his associate degree in business, training that would shape a remarkable career and a lifetime of leadership.

He started working with the New Idea farm implement company in Nashville, from 1955 to 1959, designing and building farm equipment. In 1959 he moved his family to Jonesboro Georgia to begin work at Jebco Inc. Jebco moved its manufacturing to Warrenton around 1965 so P.H. became a pilot, flying between the Jonesboro Office and Warrenton weekly.   In 1967 he decided to move to Warrenton permanently.  What began as a business opportunity with Jebco, soon became a calling. There he built a distinguished career spanning over 56 years. Eventually becoming President of the company. More than an employee, he was a cornerstone of the company, trusted, respected, and relied upon for his steady judgment, work ethic, and unwavering loyalty. His influence helped guide Jebco through decades of growth, and his presence became part of the fabric of the organization. To those who worked beside him, Mr. P.H. was not only a business executive but a mentor, a problem‑solver, and a man who led quietly by example.

His commitment to service extended far beyond the workplace. A faithful member of Warrenton First Baptist Church, he served as Deacon and later Chairman of Deacons, roles he carried with humility and devotion. He believed deeply in serving others, and his church family knew him as a man who showed up, dependable, kind, and ready to help wherever needed.

Mr. P.H. also gave generously of his time to the community he loved. He served on the Warrenton City Council, where he was the Councilman over the Water Department. His leadership helped strengthen essential services for local families, and he approached every decision with the same integrity that defined his personal life. His dedication to Warrenton was not ceremonial, it was heartfelt, consistent, and rooted in a genuine desire to make his hometown better.

Outside of work and service, Mr. P.H. embraced life with enthusiasm. He was an avid golfer, known for his competitive spirit and love for the game. He proudly cheered for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and he enjoyed traveling abroad for bird‑shooting adventures in Mexico and Argentina. Whether on the golf course, watching football, or exploring new places, he found joy in the experiences and the people who shared them with him.

Mr. P.H. is survived by his three sons, Stephen Giddens and wife Phyllis of Warrenton, Rev. Jeff Giddens and wife Judy of Winter Haven, Florida, and Rev. Chris Giddens and wife Melanie of Summerville, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Jacob Henry Giddens, Kathleen Updike, and Sherry Thomas and husband Cris; and six great‑grandchildren, Cypress, Justus, Bliss, Theo, Addison, and Francis.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the past and present Deacons of Warrenton First Baptist Church.
