Augusta - Mr. Matthew "Matt" Melton Lowe, age 55, beloved and devoted husband of 33 years to Mrs. Sandra Pendrey Lowe, entered into rest on Friday, November 29th, 2024, at his residence.

Private funeral services with Dr. Tim Pendrey officiating will be held at Westover Memorial Park.

Matt was a lifelong resident of Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia and the son of the late Shirley Grice Lowe and Melton Lowe.  He was a Field Service Technician with Airgas and a Baptist by Faith. Matt will be remembered for his creative abilities to make a home -not just a house- for his family. With remarkable ingenuity, there were few things he could not fix. Matt mastered various skills and hobbies, including hunting and fishing. Despite diverse pursuits, his family remained the most important.  A family man through and through, he looked forward to them all coming together to enjoy each other's company.  He also enjoyed family vacations.  These were some of his favorite times and these cherished memories will forever live on in their hearts.  Matt was soft-spoken, yet impactful: his words commanded attention.  He was a simple, humble man and his kindness earned him lasting friendships.  His legacy lives on through the countless hearts he touched, leaving an indelible mark, especially on his children and beloved grandsons.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Pendrey Lowe of Augusta; daughter, Amanda Lowe Spence of Grovetown; son, Chad Lowe and wife Hannah of Grovetown; three grandsons, Ridge Spence, Beckham Lowe and Banks Lowe; brother, Paul M. Lowe and wife Becky of Warrenton; brother-in-law, Dr. Tim Pendrey and wife Banita of Thomson along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Tuesday night at Chance and Hydrick Funeral Home 2502 Richmond Hill Road Augusta, Georgia 30906

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the American Heart Association P.O. Box 840692 Dallas TX 75284-0692.
