Mrs. Marguerite Gaissert AUGUSTA, GA - Mrs. Marguerite Goolsby Gaissert, age 98, beloved wife of the late John A. Gaissert died Monday May 20, 2014 at Golden Living Windermere in Augusta, GA. Graveside Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M., Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Sparta City Cemetery with the Rev. Allen McCoy officiating. Mrs. Gaissert a native of Hazlehurst, was the daughter of the late M.A. and Margie Davis Goolsby. She moved to Sparta and married John A. Gaissert. Mrs. Gaissert was a active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sparta Garden Club and she wrote seven books on Genealogy. In 2007 Mrs. Gaissert moved to Evens to live with her son Survivors include two sons Will Gaissert, Evans, GA, and J. Malcom Gaissert (Heidi) Arnold, CA and Munich, Germany. One Brother, Jefferson Goolsby, Rex, GA. Three Grandchildren Jolie Stewart (Scott), Drapier, UT, Tracey Wendell (Joe, Gainsville, GA, and Jon Mark Gaissert, Snohomish, WA. Four great-grandchildren Ryder and Maddy Stewart, and Elizabeth Sidney and Chase Meyer Wendell. She was preceded in death by a daughter Cerise Gaissert Long, two sisters Ruth Royals and Oleta Goolsby, and two brothers Bernard Goolsby and Norman Goolsby.
