Mr. Jimmy Lee Sellers

Warrenton, Georgia – Mr. Jimmy Lee Sellers, age 83, entered into rest on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Piedmont McDuffie.

Born in Wrens, Georgia, to the late Ulys Sellers and Rosa Lee Bryant Sellers, Jimmy grew up with an appreciation for family, hard work, and the simple joys that shape a life. Although Wrens was his birthplace, Warrenton became his home, his community, his comfort, and the place where he spent most of his years.

A 1960 graduate of Wrens High School, Jimmy worked in various factories throughout the surrounding counties, always known for his steady hands, strong work ethic, and quiet dependability. He later retired from EZ‑GO, closing out a long career built on commitment and perseverance.

But Jimmy's true gift, his true joy, was music. He was blessed with the ability to play by ear, and there was hardly an instrument he could not bring to life. Steel guitar, guitar, piano, even the saxophone he played in high school, Jimmy could pick them up and make them talk. Music was not just a hobby; it was the place where he felt himself. Those who knew him best often said that Jimmy did not just play music, he felt it, lived it, and shared it with anyone lucky enough to listen.

He is survived by his loving companion of 23 years, Ponda Johnson of Warrenton; three sons, Ronnie "Ron" Sellers of Warrenton, Stanley Sellers and wife Lisa of Thomson, and Shawn Johnson and wife Jennifer of Warrenton; two grandchildren, Falon Sellers of Dahlonega, Georgia, and Sydney Segraves of Washington State; three sisters, Sara Sellers Warbington of Dahlonega, Georgia, Dorothy Sellers Pendry of Thomson, and Marion Sellers Flynn, of Augusta; and a special nephew James Sellers.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Florence Usry Sellers; two sisters, Suzie Sellers Walden, and Jane Sellers Dye; and a brother, Ulys Sellers Jr.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Arlean Mills for her care given to Jimmy.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jim Bo Medlock officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
