WARRENTON, GA - Mr. Harper Jefferson (H. J.) Garner, age 88, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Thena Cummings Garner of S. Whitehead Street died Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his residence.

Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the Balerma Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Brandon Furr and Rev. Marty Pinion officiating.

Mr. Garner a native of Washington County, GA was the son of the late Clinton and Nancy Turner Garner. A Warrenton resident for 54 years, Mr. Garner worked with JEBCO, Inc. and was the retired owner of Garner's Red & White. Mr. Garner was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warrenton.

Survivors include his daughter, Thena Ann Garner, nephew, Reggie (Laurette) Garner both of Warrenton, a sister in law, Betty Garner of Warthen, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Balerma Baptist Church C/O Mrs. Barbara Brown 19107 Sparta Davisboro Road Warthen, GA 31094 or First Baptist Church of Warrenton 206 Norwood Street Warrenton, GA 30828. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Monday evening June 19, 2017 at the residence.
