Mrs. Evel J. Johnson Homemaker WARRENTON, GA – Mrs. Evel J. Johnson, age 100, beloved wife of the late Mr. Horace R. Johnson of Brown Circle died Wednesday November 28, 2012 with her family in Evans, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Johnson United Methodist Church Warrenton, GA with Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state one hour prior to funeral services at the church. Mrs. Johnson, a native and lifelong resident of Warren County, was the daughter of the late Ben and Mary Todd Johnson. She was a retired seamstress with Garland and the oldest member of Johnson United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Joe and Jane Johnson, Evans, her daughter in law, Nancy Gray Johnson, Evans, four grandchildren, Nicole Johnson, Natalie Johnson, Nolan Johnson, Becky Johnson Etheridge and her husband Lee Etheridge, and two great grandchildren, Collin Etheridge and Mason Etheridge. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her son, Ned Johnson. Pallbearers will be Herschel Coxwell, Dennis Coxwell, Dan Coxwell, Frank Johnson, Larry Norris, and Nolan Johnson. Honorary Pallbearer will be James R. Johnson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home in Warrenton.
