Ms. Amanda Lee Powell Russell

Grovetown, Georgia – Ms. Amanda Lee Powell Russell, age 48, entered into rest on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Wellstar Hospital Augusta.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Amanda's residence.

Amanda was a native of Augusta, Georgia, and had recently made her home in Grovetown. She was the daughter of Mr. Hartwell Benjamin Powell and the late Mrs. Alice Jean Harrell. For more than 20 years, Amanda served the Government as an administrative assistant, where she was entrusted with handling secure and sensitive documentation.

She enjoyed life's simple comforts to include Starbucks coffee and hamburgers from the Bluetop Grill in Graniteville, South Carolina were among her favorites. Above all, Amanda was a loving, caring woman whose greatest joy came from being a mother. She was immensely proud of her daughter's accomplishments, especially her selection as a finalist and performer in the All-State Chorus with the Grovetown School System.

Amanda shared a cherished nightly routine with her father and her faithful friend, Bob. The three would join a conference call to talk about life, the day's events, and anything else that came to mind. Each call ended with a special sign-off, Amanda saying, "Goodnight, Dad," and Bob replying, "Goodnight, Pop." It was a small ritual that meant the world to them.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Kate Russell of Grovetown; her father and bonus mom, Hartwell Benjamin Powell and Melvis Powell of Martinez; her sister, Melissa Lorraine Hutto, and Dave Mather of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; niece Felicia and Taylor Stiltner of Myrtle Beach; nephew Jacob Hutto of Myrtle Beach; her devoted friend, Bob Lazar of Grovetown; and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Amanda was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Jean Harrell.
