Warrenton, GA - Mr. Lynn Craig Hunter age 70 beloved husband of Mrs. Jacque Drinkard Hunter of Davis Street passed away peacefully in his home October 10, 2018 with his wife by his side.
Memorial funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 27, 2018 in the George M. Holliman Auditorium at the Warren County High School with the Rev. Sandra Leightner officiating.
Craig a native of Ashville, NC was the son of the late John Craig Hunter and Geneva “Jeep” Landers Hunter. A 1966 graduate of Lee Edwards High School, Craig received his Bachelors degree from Lincoln Memorial University in 1970. A U.S. Navy veteran, Craig retired from Kraft Foods.
Craig truly lived life to the fullest, through his friendships and family. He enjoyed the simplicity of life, spending time in the woods and on the golf course. He devoted much of the last 15 years to the City of Warrenton and Warren County serving as a Warrenton City Council Member, President of the Warren County High School Boosters Club and as a member of the Warren County Chamber of Commerce. In 2016, Craig was named Citizen of the Year. Craig always had a giving spirit towards families and children in need. Craig’s humor, optimism, and generosity will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Tracy Hunter Hove (Scott) of Park City, Utah, Lauren Hunter Golden (Jonny) of Bellevue, Idaho; grandchildren, Oskar Hove, Fisher Hove, and Hunter Thomas Golden.
Also surviving by marriage are his wife’s children, Rachel Leigh Baker (Michael), Joshua Porter Caudell both of Monroe, GA; and grandchildren, Madeline Claire Baker, Michael Haynes Baker as well as a special family friend and caregiver Sarah Kiger.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to the Warren County High School Booster’s Club P.O. Box 172 Warrenton, GA 30828.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 P.M. till the hour of service in the George M. Holliman Auditorium and again following the service at Miss Jane’s Restaurant on Main Street in Warrenton.
