Thomas Brady Obituary

Warrenton – It is with great sorrow we mark the passing of Thomas Erle Brady, on November 15th, 2023. Born on October 4th, 1929, Tom Brady spent his life in the service of others. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Upon retiring from the Army, he joined the Department of the Army Civil Service. He retired from Civil Service and moved to Warren County in 1985. There, he reestablished “Horse Feathers Therapeutic Riding” for the mentally and physically challenged children and young adults of Warren and McDuffie counties.

As a past Commander of the American Legion Post 96 he reached out to veterans, establishing visits to veterans in nursing homes, doing “buddy checks” on fellow members and organizing reminders of those lost in service to their country, such as annual Poppy Sales.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Shirley Brady; his son Scott Brady; his daughters, Lisa Letteer and Carol Huebener (husband Michael Huebener;) his granddaughters Sarah Letteer and Vivian Brady; and his great grandson Caius Brady.

Thomas Brady was always first to extend his hand in friendship. He was dearly loved by his family and respected by his community. He made a difference in our lives. We will remember him as a great man, and we are grateful to have known him.

A celebration of Thomas’ life will be held at the American Legion Post 96, 472 Main Street, Warrenton, Georgia, on December 9th, 2023, from 10 am to 1 pm. If you are inclined to bring food, we will have tables set up.

In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made, in his memory, to one of these organizations:
