Warrenton - Ruth Louise Emmons passed away peacefully into the hands of God after a short illness with her beloved husband and family with her at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta, Georgia at 11:00 am on February 11th. She was preceded to the kingdom of God by her parents Daniel Webster McAllen, Jr. and Cora Elizabeth (Johnson) McAllen, brother Daniel McAllen, III and a grandchild Brandon Kilgo.
Ruth leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Neal Emmons of Warrenton, Georgia; Children - Randy Emmons of Creston, OH and Renee Landers of Hampton, GA; Stepchildren- Greg Emmons of Milton, FL, Lynn Smith of Akron, OH and Gwen Nobel of Burbank, OH; 8 Grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 nieces; great friends; and her church family at the First Baptist Church.
She loved the Lord, music, playing the piano, her cat, two dachshunds and spending time with friends and family. Her adventures in life included travel, showing/breeding miniature dachshunds, a real estate agent and a groomer for 27 years at Durham Veterinary Clinic in Greensboro, GA.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 25th from 2:00-3:00 pm with a 3:00 pm celebration of life service at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Brandon Furr and Rev. Mike Dann officiating. Church is located at 206 Norwood St., Warrenton, GA 30828.
